Summing Up The Science of Getting Rich

After hearing many times about this book I finally decided it was worth a closer look. The idea is that you can get rich by following the scientific procedure to do so. Anyone who follows the instructions in this book will certainly get rich. Sounds good to me. So, I decided it was worth reading through the 80 or so pages to see what this was all about.

At the end of it all I'm not sure there was much in the way of a scientific approach presented. However, there was a framework for steps to take toward getting rich. As intangible as they may be they had a ring of truth to them. The following is my summary of what I like to think of as not so much a science but a recipe for getting rich.

  • There is a formless substance or "thinking" stuff that is everywhere and in all things throughout the Universe.

  • The impression of thought upon the formless substance can cause what is thought about to manifest.

  • In order to impress thought upon the formless substance you must come from a place, a mindset, of creation rather than competition.

  • Deep and continuous gratitude is also necessary to impress thought upon the formless substance.

  • You must form a clear and definite mental image of that which is desired and hold that image with complete expectation and gratitude for having received it.

  • As much of your free time as possible should be devoted to focusing on the image of that which is desired with unwavering faith and gratitude.

  • What is desired will come to you through the established ways of trade and commerce, not by magic.

  • You receive your desired outcomes by acting in a way that causes you to more than fill your present place. In other words being better than expected at what you do, adding value, going the extra mile, etc.

  • Every day do all that can be done. Do not sit and wait for things to come to you. Execute each and every action in a successful manner. A successful manner meaning that you are fully present in the now, giving your full effort to the action at hand, while also keeping in mind your vision and the faith and gratitude of receiving it.

  • Give to every person a use value greater than the cash value received so that each transaction promotes expansion of life.

  • Hold the idea of advancement and expansion so that it is such a part of you that others can feel it when they interact with you. This does not mean advancement in a competitive way but more in the sense of personal growth.

The claim of the author is that by following these steps you cannot help but get rich. The trouble is that it's really more of a guide than a step by step scientific process. If nothing else the "science" of getting rich advocates living in a way that is positive, proactive and adds value to our experience and that of the people who interact with us. Will it make you rich? Maybe. Why not try it and see?

One of the most important things that I have learned as an entrepreneur is how to handle requests from potential and current clients without losing my mind. What I mean is that when I was starting out I would go nuts every time a client wanted something. Every email and phone message felt like a crisis situation that had to be handled ASAP. Raccoons In The Chimney - How To Get Them To Leave

It was April when I first heard the noises. They were coming from the fireplace. The noise, it turned out was coming somewhere in the chimney, just above the damper.  Some research convinced me I had a family of raccoons living up there. As I've come to learn they had probably set up camp on the smoke shelf. They would make noise in the evenings. Mostly quiet during the day. Sometimes I would hear them purring! I knew that trying to get rid of them at that point would put the babies in danger. So, I decided to live with them for a while. They were pretty good tenants. They didn't make too much noise. They are very good about keeping their den clean and did not use their chimney home as a bathroom.
